  Local Attraction

For the energenic there are plenty of walks, the lucky walker may be privileged to see the Red Squirrel, Deer and perhaps the badger to mention but a few of the varied wild life to be found in this beautiful area.  There is also the coast to coast walk which is a few miles away.

No visit to the area would be complete without a visit to Appleby, the Castle sitting above the Town is open to the public, and the grounds are home to various rare breeds.  Appleby also has its own Railway Station as part of the Carlisle Settle Line.  Appleby is world famous for the Annual Horse Fair.

Penrith is a busy bustling Market Town.  The Auction becomes an Open Air Market every Saturday where many bargains may be found.  There is also a railway station.  Junction 40 on the M6 is the gateway to the Lakes.

If any guests wish to look around the buildings and see the animals I would be glad to take them around, please remember your wellies or old shoes as the ground is likely to be muddy (after all we are a working farm!).
