This
backs on the Blue Room. This is the only remaining bedroom with a
fireplace, sadly no longer working as it was sealed at the top to keep
the birds from nesting. This room looks north, over the cow pasture.
The bird table below the window has many visitors, the Great Spotted
Woodpecker being one of many species. This bedroom is the warmest in
the house both winter and summer as it sits over the Aga in the
kitchen below. The floor is in this room has the most noticeable lean,
but most of the floors in such an old house are not flat, neither are
the walls. |
